If it's worth doing at all it's worth over-doing.

To those that ended genocide halfway around the world, my admiration.
To those that survived the jungle of asia, my sympathies.
To those who endure the heat of the desert, my regret.

I always try to remember to Acknowledge Veteran's Day, to "Thank Those Who Have Served And Are Serving. My Hat Goes Off to you all. And I Personally Want To Thank Those Who Gave Their Efforts, Especially Those Who Gave Their All. That is the reason we have the Freedom And Liberties we have. And, last of all, I am Proud to say that I served as well.  ;)

From Wikipedia: There were 16,112,566 members of the United States Armed Forces during World War II. There were 291,557 battle deaths, 113,842 other deaths in service (non-theater), and 670,846 non-mortal woundings. According to the Department of Veterans Affairs, around 620,000 American veterans from the war are estimated to still be alive as of 2016.

My neighbor's father is about 96 and a WWII vet. He's a machinist and still working and has been giving me tooling and knowledge about machining. Lucky to have him around. Such a cool guy.

For Canada it was 1.1 million and 45000 did't make it back, that's when my squadron was formed an anti shipping low level attack squadron 407 sqn RCAF.

Over one fifth of those 45,000 were airmen.
Frightening.
