Question about 3 prong signal relay
«

I tryed to do search but it doesnt seem to be working. I have a 71 cb500 and cant get my turn signals to work. When going thru the wiring i noticed that the turn signal relay I have on bike only has two prongs. I looked in the manual and see that my bike should have a three prong and that the green wire is loose/not plugged. Could this be my problem! Thanks.

Most of them have 2 prongs, the 3 prong ones are getting harder to get according to my parts guy that got me one. Check your voltage, that's the most common cause, next bulbs, then sockets, then grounds.

The manual is wrong. You can use a 3 prong one but it has to be the correct type with a ground, some hàve outputs for the idiot light or more signals. Two prong was original equipment in NA at least. There is a green unused wire near the flasher should you wish to change.
Not likely your problem anyway. Check you get battery voltage to the flasher with key on. Jumpering the flasher terminals will put 12v on the signals (when you turn a side on) so if they do come on like that - but obviously won't flash - then the flasher is bad. If they do not come on then you have a wiring fault.

I'm thinking dirty ground. Try a temporary supplemental ground wire from the negative battery post to the base of any turn signal.
If it flashes, you have some wiring to clean up, connectors to replace or turn signal bases and stalks to re-ground to the chassis.
