Topic: In Case Bearing Lubricating

Hi Guys,

Im doing a full motor rebuild with the case half's split in order to get out all the particles from the cam chain tensioner rollers disintegrating.
Im trying to clean out the case half's without removing the transmission gears. In the slow process of cleaning it out by hand, I have been using parts cleaner and brake cleaners.

My question is this; Will the parts cleaners damage the bearings in the transmission shaft? Will it remove its grease or are they just lubricated from the oil in the case so I can just re-lube them before sealing the cases?  If it does, can I re-grease them with the proper grease on the shaft or am I going to have to remove the entire transmission?

They're lubed with engine oil. No extra grease needed.

These transmissions are only placed in the case. You can easily lift them out and lay them in a safe clean place. I like to wrap parts in stretch wrap. Keeps the oil in.

Yea, I removed the upper Shaft of the Transmission. The bottom one seems like it is pressed into the case on a bearing. But If I dont need to relube them ill just hunt down a power washer and clean and dry and relube all the bearings.

If you clean them, just add a little redline assembly lube and spin them.  Keeps everything wet until your oil adequately circulates
