CB350 luggage brackets and bags?
« on: January 02, 2017, 01:58:01 pm »
Good day fellow CB owners

Do the 350 Four riders amongst yourselves have suggestions on which side (hard) luggage bags to get and corresponding brackets?

Would those of some other CB model work?

Grazie!

All of my bikes have a luggage rack but none have hard bags.   A company by the name of "Triple-A" made very good luggage racks back in the day that you might be able to hang a soft bag off of.

Hard bags for a CB350, that survived since then, and still look good?  All I can suggest is to set up a saved "Followed Search" on EBay and maybe something will eventually show up.

I waited a year for some of these racks to show up and I paid way too much for one but that happens.

Thanks for the suggestion - I've just put a search in ebay.

I rarely see CB350Fs with side luggage, but honestly I don't find the rack in the back very nice... I'd prefer some (maybe smaller than usual) hard cases on the sides, so that I can also leave a few bits secured to the bike in case.

Would luggage mounts for CB550s or other also fit? I wonder...

Any Triple-A luggage rack will have a stamped bike model number embossed on one of its parts. This will leave little doubt about what bike that rack will fit.

550 cases can fit but you will need to make modifications to the mounting brackets.  Search for Shoei, Buco,Vetter, etc if you want vintage hard panniers.  Searching for hard saddlebags, hard side cases, hard panniers in motorcycle parts can net you some listings.  Shoei bags are very nice but command good money.  There are modern Chinese versions of the more generic cases.  Just don't be afraid of rewiring an old set of bags that have tail lights. It was a common thing to do...  either way you will need to relocate your turn signals.
superbrightleds has good bright solutions for LED bulbs which are brighter in many cases than stock bulbs. Just need an electronic flasher compatible with LEDs to deal with the LED bulbs or mixed bulbs.
