Doesnt work well if you know his wife, but you can get someone else to do the deed..

...walk up to them and say, How come your girlfriend has different color hair today....?..

Reminds me of when I had my appendix removed. After surgery they told me they were going to bring my wife in. When they escorted her into post-op I looked at the nurse and said "I thought you were going to bring my wife in?"  :o
