Ok i found 2 heads, think i have one more.
First one, like Sgt,s lower pic, sort of rough casting, some of the fin edges at side of motor, have some extra material ..a bit lumpy on a few fins.  Had the cam on it, no rings around it but had a raised boss that was stamped XX...... No hole in the front., straight rib.,
Second head had the extra depressions between 1/2 and 3/4 intakes like the top pic from Sgt.
I remember thinking it was early, long time ago because of the bottom of the cylinder had the correct holes for early stuff.. When I checked for front bolt I was dissapointed that it had the bolt up front...But, But looking today, i notice it had the rib going across , no boss around bolt hole..so it appears someone ground the rib down till flush with the head, and drilled the hole.. So looks like early head with, HOLE ADDED..!. The bad part both the barrel and head have been Hexed...and bored for bigger sleeves..970 cc....Sooooo.. Looks like this topend belongs on my #10,3** cases...that are bored for 1080cc,  and blew a Yoshi rod..so need bit of welding.. This plan for it was to he a hotrodded 69 diecast.
Think i have one more no hole motor somewhere.. Either 16,*** or 20,***. Still in a frame, and one no hole cylinder.. On another KO Motor had later head with the front headbolt hole siliconed close..likely meaning head was swapped but not barrel..

Crap, a no center bolt hole cylinder sold on ebay tonight and not to me.  Hopefully someone here got it. I'm glad we talked, I assumed the smooth fin head was newer, it's not and  it must be correct for an earlier motor.  I own E5930 on my sandcast bike, it has the pins protruding. I'm hoping the head with the pockets and smooth bottoms is correct for E2695 then. Someone on the sandcast site had a frame for sale a year ago that I think was around 2640. I assume it has a home by now.

kmb, when did the cyls start changing to the later type?
Bill,
Pretty sure that the additional bolt in front came at 26,144 along with some other head and cylinder changes.
I have a couple of early K1's that appear to have sandcast cylinders with the kind of rough finish.
Not really sure when the die cast cylinders were implemented.

I have a later ko diecast it came with the 71/72 cyls cyls 64mm and broken fins so easy to replace.on another note putting my buddies ko diecast together with a nos gasket set he bought many years ago ,genuine Honda, everything was fitting fine until I went to fit the oilpan gasket,it was for a sandcast!so looked at the clutch cover gasket and 9 hole, just opened a rare set of gaskets sht!they have asbestos in them.billp the gaskets were on a blue card not like red ones today.

I bought that cylinder Don. On the other hand I was putting offers to mister monkeyclaw on that one you get. Believe it or not I made few attempts offering him exactly 175$ and he refused. I was even ready to pay more but ebay did not allow me to put more offers. I do have 11xxx nice cases waiting for correct parts so that cylinder will find his home soon. I hope barrels are not over bored so I can use my nos stock pistons.

Well Danyo, I think you got the better one. I was sick all week and slept through the end of the sale. When I made the head offer to mr m I mentioned the broken fins and the rust ring in the cyl. It looks better in person but this recent one was nicer.

A friend that has a bike shop let his son sell scrap and he scrapped a complete original 10xxx engine because it had chain damage to the case. I went to the scrap yard and asked if they kept any of that stuff around. They don't.

That's fascinating, I've got an interesting head here, it has the front hole, but pressed in steel oil jets, and I've only ever seen this one. I assumed that it was a K1 head, but maybe it's a late K0? I'll have to take another look at it tomorrow. Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Thanks Bill, I'll have to drag my head out and compare it to the one in your pic. Cheers, Terry. ;D
