Maybe 60 miles on the rebuild. The the oil change is more due to the amount of fine shiny metal in the oil fromy the cam and rocker tower destruction. I got all the big stuff out bit it will take a few oil changes to clear it all out. The exhaust smells very gassy and may have put gas in the oil. Wet plugs also last time I checked before I adjust the pilot jets leaner. I need to pull plugs again and see if they are still wet. I also get a rich stumble at part throttle occasionally.

Plugs are wet, but what color? 60 miles is not sufficient for rings to seat either.

Update: Purchased some Marzocchi shocks off eBay. Hopefully they work. I've always loved the look of these shocks and I've heard they work well on our bikes. It appears that the red paint has been stripped at some point. Not sure if I'll paint them red again. Maybe black with silver springs to fit the monochrome color scheme? Opinions?

More important than color, is condition. If they haven't been rebuilt, you might want to have them rebuilt.  Ask the seller.

Rebuild them yourself it's super easy and the kit is like $65.

There are not listed as rebuilt. Just used "good condition". I will check the dampening when they arrive. Slikwilli, do you have a link to a rebuild kit?

It is a 2001 Triumph Sprint ST 955i. Only 9000 miles on the clock. The PO installed a carbon slip-on, carbon dress up covers, new fuel pump, and new tires. It also came with all 3 color matched hard bags ($1k upgrade). I'm amazed with the bike so far. It's super comfy. I payed less for this than the cb750. 😲

I love triples.  This is pretty close to the same motor as the earlier Speed Triple.

I'm really like it too. Very smooth power. The fuel injection is a pretry nice to have too.

A ring of rare earth magnets on the ends of your oil filter will collect a ton of that lost material before it clogs the filter element.  Its super fine stuff.

Hey guys! So I'm back on the Highway Racer. Ive been slowly fixing things and decided to dive in head first. A wonderful package from Cognito Moto showed up today. Super excited! Ive wanted these parts for about a year now and I'm finally able to afford them.

I chopped the passenger peg mounts today to make room for the rear sets. Not much progress but it feels good. I have to finish this project so I can move on to other toys...

Ok so lets try this again...

Im in process of rebuilding these Marzocchi AG Strada shocks. Overall, they are in good shape. Just really dirty. I have rebuild kits on the way. A lucky eBay purchase on that. The kits are pretty much Unobtainium in North America. I also found some rubber bushings for the top. I just had to drill them out to fit.
One of the shocks was reassembled incorrectly by a PO. The damper shims and retainer are all bent up. Luckily, I have that kit on the way also. I think I'm going to paint them back to red. It'll throw a bit of color into my monochrome bike.

I will probably post up a detailed how-to when I'm done.

I've also added a Joker Machine brake stay and spaced it out properly to clear the 170 tire. No more "dog leg"!

The rearsets are 90% done. I still have to sort out the brake rod. Currently, the brake stay is in the way now. I have a good idea, I just have to test it. They look #$%*in' on the bike. Now I have Tarozzi clipons and rearsets!
