Topic: Would a 1983 cb550 sc header fit on my 1980 cb650?

Hey all, just wanted to ask a quick question and basically did it in my title.  Does anyone know if the header off a 1983 cb550 sc would fit onto my 1980 cb650 custom?  It looks like it would fit but I am only looking at it online so there isn't a way to tell for sure.  I figured someone on here would be able to answer probably.

No. Not a direct swap. Doesn't mean you can't 'make' it fit with some tools and a welder, though.

bummer.  how much work would need to be done would you say to get them to fit?  sounds like it wouldn't be worth the swap.  wish I could find a black 4 to 1 or 2 header to fit my bike.  know of anywhere to look?  i'v been looking around a bit online, but no luck.  seems as though the 1980 cb650 doesn't have very many exhaust options.

I'm curious about this as well.  Usually the header pipes can swivel around a bit from where they connect to the muffler.  So as long as the diameters match maybe it could be done with diy bracket? anyone know if the 550 pipes are the same diameter?  If it's possible I'd buy the bike in the attached picture just to put the headers on my 650

Hi folks. Seems MAC doesn't make the 4 into 1 for the 79-82 models anymore... Did anyone ever find out about nighthawk headers on the 79s or 80s? I like the hindle exhaust but they don't ship to CA.
