Howdy
« on: February 09, 2007, 06:56:58 AM »
Hello all,
   I've recently purchased a K1 and a '74 350F for resto. - I've already started collecting parts thru e-bay- I'm sure I'll be coming here often looking for advice, parts, moral support etc... as my adventure continues.
Will some tell me where the gosh darn kill switch is!!!

Welcome.

How much work does it need? What color is it?

This is the place to answer all your questions.

Good luck on your rebuild!

Thanks all for the welcome. I'll send pix as soon as I replace my digital camera - tough call when that could be money well spent on parts-  The 750K1 isn't to bad. The motor was swapped with a K4 but the original motor came w/ the bike. At least thats what I'm told - serial #'s say the motor's a K2 - it has a 1 1/2" X 1" hole in the case from a broken chain, I bought some used cases and plan on swapping the internals. Other than that it's just small stuff like correct instruments ,paint etc... The 350 is another matter entirely, this is going to have to be a complete soup to nuts resto, I've always loved these bikes and thought my wife would love it for it's compact size - I did a '74 CB450 for her but it's a little big, resto came out good though - hopefully she'll like it, even if she doesn't I'll like it anyway- I'll keep you posted- Pete

The spare motor may be the original, depending on how far off the motor number is from the frame number. They are never the same to my knowledge (can be a few hundred difference). The bike model is defined by the frame number rather than the motor number.

You could check the model guide info. here;
