Beautiful day today, going up to 72 degrees F. It was one year ago that we had the "once in a lifetime" [I hope!] snow/ice storm in Texas...

Saturday it was 16C and I rode 117 miles while Sunday was 0C, snow and wind.

1 degree when I left a Superbowl get-together last night in SW Mi. Driving there around 5:00pm hit a major white-out on the highway. Those are always fun !

White outs are just as much fun as ground blizzards. I've driven across eastern Wyoming using nothing but the reflective poles on the sides of the road. All I could see was rolling hills of white and the little white reflectors on the poles. At least I was in a big truck and could see over the blowing snow. I was helping a friend move back to Denver. He was following me in his 82' TransAm. All he could see was my taillights for a couple hundred miles. He told me if I went off the road he was going to be right behind me.

16 degrees for a high today at my house ( Upstate NY) in the blazing sun. We had a few 40s days last week but my whole yard and the hills are still under 3 inches of ice.
I refuse to work or play outside in temps like this anymore so I 've been hiding out in the house, not once in the shop....takes too long to get it warm .
It's been a cold winter here ,I'm so looking forward to spring.

The high temps are slowly coming down to much more acceptable riding temps as we enter the last couple of weeks of summer here. Whereas last weekend it was in the low 90's, this weekend it'll be in the high 70's, so much more enjoyable when clad in jacket, helmet, boots and gloves. All going well it'll be really nice bike weather until at least early May.

I was going to test ride the Sabre after fixing a leaky fork seal yesterday but I woke up to 4" of snow.

Now I have to use the tractor to haul firewood to the porch.

A mild and pleasant ride to the office this morning at just above freezing, and a sunny 60* ride home. Couldn't ask for better in February. Warm and wet the next couple days, then cold and maybe snow at the end of the week. Brake booster in my pickup is failing, couple days to get a new one so I'll probably commute on the dirt bike the rest of the week.

No, my Tacoma is not 4 whl drive. Snow is so rare here that it is not needed.

It was 34 degrees this morning and snowing. There was about 4-5 inches of accumulation by noon, and then the temp increased to 36. While it kept snowing, it melted off as fast as it fell, and by 4:00 or so the snow stopped.

It's always a bit cooler out of town.
I saw on the news today the temperature swing during that time period is the largest on record here.
