It was 78F yesterday afternoon.  I rode down to the Bat Tunnel, but it was closed due to construction.  Looks like they are fixing it up.  It was 34 at my house this morning.

Winter roared in hard yesterday, after a high of 55 degrees, it went down to 14 last night!

My water feature is not happy...

But no freezing rain or snow so I'm not complaining. But goes without saying, I wont be riding today!

Checked weather in Hell (Michigan) last night at 10pm AZ time and it was 22F, so clearly Hell was froze over.

We were spared the extreme cold as the Jetstream dipped further East than Tucson... 35F overnight and high of 68F this afternoon.

Hydro lines down. Got the generator going, for about 6 hours. Somehow, Ontario Hydro crews were out and did the repairs. Amazing guys and gals!  Hats off to them.....

The weather here in 2022 has been crap. It never got hot last summer and got cold real early, and winter hung around until mid December. It's magic now, averaging 80 - 85 every day, but I've just discovered that there's a heat wave coming in from Boxing Day, temps above 100 for 4 days and nights. Poop. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

We had a HIGH of -4.8 degrees (F) Wednesday and -2.0 degrees Thursday. The winds on Tuesday hit over 70 MPH here, first from the west until about 4 PM, then from the east after that as it drove the snow in from the east: it was 40 degrees when I went to work and -3 when I came home.

Then we got 8" of snow.

Merry Christmas, it looks like it!

We got new windows a couple years ago, the wind has driven snow in between the screens and the glass. That's a first.

Hopefully it will warm back up fairly soon for those whom had the severe cold. We were spared the bomb cyclone and severely dip of the Jetstream.

Last nite the weather bunny told us we would get rain, followed by 1" to 4" of snow.
This AM I had to shovel 16" of that 4" off my deck, driveway, patio...

Currently 84 deg F, was in the high 90's from Christmas Day to Wednesday, and will be back there over the weekend. I keep looking at my Christmas tree and cards, decorated with fake snow, thinking how far removed we are here, from reality...... ;D

The "real" reality is not nice either ;)
I'm waiting for spring and some good tasty rides!
I have time now to search Internet for new restaurants and gas stations providing good fuel, not the crappy lower octane (95 RON) 10% ethanol (with more water) that most gas stations have.

My bikes, K6 especially must have +98 with max 5% ethanol, not all gas stations have it.
My K2 could get 95 before the ethanol increase from 5 to 10% and not known amount of water the ethanol absorb.

EU ratings are 95/98, which are equivalent to US ratings of 91/93.
It would be convenient with bags where I can have 10L extra fuel for longer rides, +300km without refueling.

Why are they tinkering with the RON level Per, is it because of Russia? Over here 98 RON is available at every gas station (my K0 especially hates anything less) so no problems getting it, but fuel prices are pretty high right now, mostly due to gas companies price gouging as most folks taking their annual vacations around Christmas.

One gas station I went past yesterday was 35 cents per litre cheaper than everywhere else, and as you could imagine, there were queues hundreds of metres long. I only needed 11 litres for my 165 Km ride yesterday, so I just paid the higher price, but the benefit was that the Shell gas station was empty and I could have used any pump. I guess price gouging is more important than volume sales? ;D

I'm sure it's the green people that doing opposite than they initially said and thought would be good.
5L extra fuel should help.

There are beautiful areas I need for new rides where Shell has no gas stations.
There are a few others with 98RON. Need to make plans.

I'll see when spring arrives ;)

52 degrees early this morning and all the snow has melted off again in SW Michigan. Mud season again for awhile. Been like a yo-yo this year so far.
