TC Brothers bobber Weld-In frame help.

I have a 1972 CB750 Bobber project I'm currently working on.  Only thing I'm waiting for is the oil tank so I can fire it up.  I have a question for anyone who has used this weld-in frame from TC Bros.  What was your spacer configuration for the rear wheel.  Obviously, you can't use the configuration that they tell you to, to use the stock axle.  I'm not sure if their specs are just off or what, but I have around an extra inch of axle hanging out.  I have to use excessive spacers on the outside just to get the bolt to snug up.  Only other thing I can think of is to bent the rear apart to be able to widen it.  Anyone have a picture of their rear wheel to show how they did it?  Thanks!

cut your axle, and thread it on both ends.  you can use 2 castle nuts, or acorns...  i would recommend you keep an eye on the seat area for any evidence of stress or fracture. not trying to dissuade you in any way. that area just stands out in your pic

I have built spacers for a lot of bikes..
 I start with blocked up bike. Then put wheel without spacers, on the axle in the frame. Use a thin straightege to line up the sprockets, using the back sprocket.. When they are lined up , measure and build spacers.. Simple proces, 'cept maybe getting spacers made.
Tip shortening a short spacer , usually not as easy as it looks, sometimes easier to make new one.
 If your axle has a nut/hex on the end, its the later longer axle.
