I bought a half gallon of 90 proof coconut rum today but it was for someone else.

I have students from Bulgaria.  They brew their own peach brandy.  They love to share

Yes, it got more popular after the russian army moved out in 1990

Back in the day, the aprés ski in Austria used to involve shots of 80° Stroh Rhum. After a few beers of course. And maybe some Obstler schnapps.

I never got to like it, though I did try reasonably hard to do so.

In about 1994 I had a chance to get on a ru destroyer in Juneau. Screwed around the first day until there was an impossible line. (free in Juneau is popular.)Next day I was first in line until former Governor Wally Hickel came and cut in front of mE. Got on board, had a gf that taught me "Ya peronichyu" and "Ya puy piva."  Ruskis were coming back from shore leave with bud suitcases and boom boxes. Got the full tour of the boat.Traded a fleece for a uniform, basically traded clothes. Got the best p-coat ever, might have paid 15 bucks. Officer's cap and complete swabby striped  t- shirt and wool uniform top for the gf.


So I could say "I penetrate"  and "I love Beer,"  Got signed in to the USCG buoy deck bar and drank with officers.

I know that where I live here in Darwin Larry, we hold the record for alcohol consumption per capita in Australia.
Now how that compares the Global stage I'm unsure, but there's only one way to find out.
