Another virginity lost
« on: April 01, 2007, 09:52:02 AM »
It's good to finally have joined! I have visited the forum in the past and discovered that besides the wealth of information, contributors tend to be top notch people. I'm not what you'd call a joiner of clubs and such but it seems when I'm in for a penny I'm in for a pound. I joined the 59 club, largely because it's historic(?) status and origins in helping the youth of Britain (though I'm a Yank in the U.S.) through the church. A Limey Boys Town, or is that a stretch? I also joined the Patriot Guard Riders, although right now it's for financial and moral support.

My bike is a '74 CB550K0 and it's not original but mostly un- hot rodded. Like a 'ton' of others I have Cafe expectations but I bought this bike mostly for the visceral experience of the long missed connection with a machine. So being the fastest nutter out there isn't important. My background is with hot rods and muscle cars and not so much with two wheels. But I've always admired the beauty ('cause that's what it is) of a motorcycle's engineering... and Our Blessed Mother of Speed, can't forget that.
