Christmas tree down

 This year I put it up no issue. Going to a meeting , open the door , hear a  scratchy sound with slight air movement then crash and lotsa breakage....it fell right in front of the door. couldn't get out the door and couldn't leave it there so I stood it back up and went out to the barn for the shop vac. I bring the shop vac to the door and it won't open ... the tree fell down again! All that broken glass, my wife and kids favorites smashed all over the room, oh she's gonna have a fit ! So I pick it back up lean it on the wall , bring in the vac being careful not to step on the ones that aren't broken...I had to plug it in and the cord was stuck under one wheel, only needed 8 more inches to plug it in so I gave it a tug. The vac spun sideways on the wheel that was caught in the plug, hooked into the tree and pulled it down for the 3rd time! Unbelievable!
 This time I reset the base and stood it up , that did it. twenty minutes of intense vacuuming later...Well it wasn't like this didn't happen , but it wasn't like my wife wouldn't notice either. My daughter was home and told her mom that the tree fell over." I only told her it fell over once" she told me.

I don't put up lights
I don't put up a wreath
I don't get a tree
Heck I don't even get presents.

Which makes me wonder - anyone ever try to make a Christmas light string from old Honda turn signal stalks?

 Your tree fiasco sounds like a scene from a Griswold Christmas   ;) Just makin' some new holiday memories !!

  I was on FB recently and saw a video of a couple building a tree out of fallen antlers....I was thinking maybe I'd try the same thing out of handlebars with wiring harness garland. Besides not having enough handlebars to build a tree, the idea was voted down.

Did you have that red bike at Barber a couple years ago? maybe without the faring?

He may have been but I would doubt it.  rb is from the state of New York so it would be quite a ride down to Alabama for Barber.
If he lived closer to Alabama/Georgia area, he would never have time for the forum because I'd be over at his house all the time staring at and admiring all of his bikes! :)
(Come to think of it, I might never be on the forum either because he might shoot me when he got real tired of me coming over!)

I stick a tiny Santa hat on my Great Kahuna mask and my Gargoyle. I enjoy the pageantry, but mostly the food.

My mom wanted a small footprint for an artifical tree so she bought a 6 foot tall skinny tree that is about 16 inches in diameter.  Grandkids are full grown and trying to pack 12 to  15 people in the living room was a bit of a big challenge with a std tree or real tree.

As far as fallen trees go, years ago, we used to go to my Wife's parent's for Christmas Eve and my parents for Christmas Day. And we had 2 cats that we took with us. Well, that night, after we went to bed, one of the cats decided to climb my Mother-In-Law's tree. Yeah, turned it over and we were asked to not bring the cat's any more. LOL
