Here's the Delkevic stainless.  Not a bad set-up, wish it could use the stock flanges though.

Had a 550 Header with an universal Pipe on it before.. also nice, but that sound of the 4-4 is just

I have two Hindle's on my CB's. Best hands down (in my opinion) with style, performance and price. I had a Carpy and MotoGPWerks pipe before and neither could stack up against the Hindle's quality. Also helps Kemp (RippleRockRacers) is a standup guy with excellent service. Highly recommended. Can post pictures/videos if you'd like as well.

The Hindle is a nice system and a great price. But I don't know that I would classify it as "the best quality" of all the systems out there. I have had several MotoGP Werk systems in my hands, and each has been flawless in fit, finish, and welding.

Am I the only one who kinda wishes the stock 4 into 4 system on their 500 sounded a bit more ballsy? Mine is almost too quiet, but I am comparing it to the loud buzzy rumble of my 360 twin. I can set off car alarms with that bad boy going up the street. My 500 is smooth and quiet. It does open up a bit at higher revs and that does sound nice but I kinda wish it was a tad more rumbly.

I love the retro look of the stock 4-4 500-550 pipes until 1977.  I wish my 550 originals weren't rusted out and that the repros were not so expensive.  I probably should have bit the bullet and bought repros.

Sometimes I think the Jardine 4 into 2 pipes on my CB500 are too loud. Privately, I absolutely love the sound but I often feel that they might be too loud for others on the road around me.

The sound definitely has a growl to it.

I admire and love bikes - some Yamahas in particular - that have exhausts so quiet that you'll hear the air intake instead, a sound that I find far more exciting. Riders that annoy the environment with loud pipes are children that are not yet housebroken.

that's where our opinions differ, i guess:
i don't get the point of having a loud exhaust. the right combination of back pressure and flow, sure. the 550f OEM exhaust could flow better, that's certain and a more open exhaust would also produce more noise. but noise alone doesn't make the thing go any better.

Jeez.  No can do right now.  Bike is at Beringer/Frog Specialties awaiting the new caliper bracket.

That bike with Hindle sounds good. I for one hadn't heard of them prior to this thread. I will have to check them out, thanks !

Here is a Motad Exhaust installed on the same bike.  This is going to be the keeper.  If someone wants the Delkevic stainless exhaust with 30 miles on it please PM me.  I have it in the original wrapping and box.

I don't like the look or size of the cone, I want a shorter and robust stainless steel shorty on there. I don't mind having a loud bike, I ride around metro Detroit and I NEED people to hear me. We have some of the worst roads and phone distracted drivers. The 4 into 1 is cool although I prefer equal visual balance on both sides of the bike. The bike is not balanced when looking from the rear and this bothers me. I have the original 4 into 2 pipes and I'm considering putting them back on with something thin, retro looking mufflers.
