Considering that we're only talking .4mm, why not buy a sheet of that stuff and cut a couple of full circumference spacers out to fully support the discs? Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

not gonna lie, tried good ole beer cans but turned out way too thin. Ill see what i can scour on the web for shim material!

@ RagTop Thanks! I lucked out with my 08+ dyna wheel. Got it cheap too. id say find one of those? definitely determine the stock wheel measurments to the cbr600RR forks/wheels so you can compare.
Its a little motor and it likes having the tits revved off it.

Yeah I ended up pulling the trigger on CBR1000RR honeycomb/RC51 type wheel today..   It's not a perfect match to the 500X rear wheel but I'm probably the only one that will notice the difference..  they should marry up well enough.  Came with a stock tire on it so I guess the bike will have street rubber on it till I can get the fancy ones lol

Hobby shops carry aluminum , some tin, and brass sheet stock from K&S Metals
They are generally 6×12 in pieces in various thicknesses.  The aluminum is generally 3031 unless they specify it to be 6061.

update:
Took the calipers off and gave them the best cleaning I could without doing a full rebuild. pumped the pistons out until I saw clean metal then took a tooth brush and simple green and q-tips with brake cleaner. re installed onto the forks and installed wheel without the shims. Im getting way less drag now. definitely acceptable for the purpose of this build. Justing waiting on a spacer to be machined and sent to me for the left side of the wheel then I can install rubber, steering stops, and headlight. Will be riding in no time!

How did you end up getting the rotors to align? I have the same setup right now and that is my biggest worry, to align them
