Quick update, got probably two more filling and sanding sessions on the frame and then it's ready to prime.  The crank is at ape, head & rods are at TMR porting, cylinders arrived to LLC machining.  The goal is to have the motor ready to assemble in 4 weeks.  Rods and crank are the biggest time part of this.  Should be 3 week turnarounds on these.

While I wait for those, my swingarm and shocks should be done by Valentine's day.  I should have my lower triple and front axle from TTR400 by then and my wheels built by then too.  Get some paint on the frame and I can have the roller ready for the motor.

almost forgot about the wheels.  I ordered a MX wm2 Excel front and MX wm3 Excel rear.  Buccannon's is doing the stainless spokes and stainless nipples.  The hubs will be getting powerdercoated a satin black.  Then it's time to lace them.  The front should lace right up and the rear may need a quick once over with a chainsaw file for the angle.

Filler is done on the frame.  Just have to hit the areas with 180 and scuff any remaining areas.  I'll have it in primer by Monday.

Yowza! It will be pretty tricky to paint a frame with that heavy a flake (you may know this already). Gravity will conspire against you when you have to spray in all directions to get full coverage and "drag" the flake down, or away...

It will look spectacular if you can get it to hold  8)

Should be fun.  Plan is to do a good tack coat first so the flake can sink in and hoping it's holds with a good flash between coats.

Love Flake...But man do I hate cleaning the booth afterward.  Are you using a dry flake gun or suspending the flake in an intermediate clear?  I have best luck when spraying it mixed with intermediate, if I over reduce and put a ton of flake in it.  That way I am not building up the surface with the stuff that likes to run. Usually the runs happen when people get too much of the slow drying gummy binder on the surface, then the weight of the flake will just pull it.  I have not had as much luck spraying it dry as I do this method.  Especially on frames.   It is going to have some nice bling to it!!!!
