Will you be running the exhaust short like that?
No sir.  I have a 12" cone eng can to run with it, just have to address the collector exit to get it to clear the swingarm

Man, that seat turned out really nice! Did you order it that way or did you give them "artistic leeway"?
Of all the custom and trick stuff on my million dollar (seems like anyway)  cafe'd 400F the one thing that I'm not thrilled over is the way my ducktail turned out. Some day I will design another one more to my liking.

Do you know optimal degree settings that are recommended for your engine build ? Will you be advancing it ?

Going to degree the cam to the specs webco provided with it.  When mike ported my head, he did it with this cam in mind.  Should be perfect for this motor.

Been alittle bit for an update.  Had a friend come over to help degree my cam.  He is a master of the arts.  Got it right on point and now I can button the top end up and get onto the carbs, wiring, and carbs

I've been alittle lazy on the 400 lately.  My exhaust shipped out of japan today and I've been working to get my brakes knocked out.  Hit a snag with the rear brake pivot clearing the swingarm and my brake rod being too short.

After a couple nights staring at it in passing, I bent the brake pivot to be centered between the frame and swingarm, and will run a cb750 brake rod as they are about 2-3" longer.  Front caliper is soaking in some penetrating oil so i can get the piston out and then i'll get it on.

I wet sanded the tank and tail and will be hitting it with some clear as soon as I get my tail lite tinted and ready for clear.  Then i'm onto wiring the bike and getting the carbs done.

So this beauty showed up from japan.  Absolutely gorgeous!  I'm going to get their larger baffle for it and bend an aluminum bracket for the rear hanger.
