627B Carburetors - Pesky Rubber Tubes Between The Carbs???
« on: January 02, 2017, 12:16:12 PM »
Hello,

I have read the Carb FAQ.  I have visited CB750carbs.com.  I have looked on You Tube.  What do those black rubber tubes between carb 1 & 2 and carb 3 & 4 do?  I'm guessing they are some kind of equalization or vent and I seem to remember reading that around here somewhere.  These rubber pieces have no part number listed on the fiche at CMSNL.

But here's the biggest question.  How are the rubber pieces replaced?  It would seem that the best way is to loosen carbs 1 and 4 to give a little slack to install the new rubber.  But is that the best course of action?

  How do you do this??

Many thanks,

Rick

You will need to disassemble the carbs from the mounting plate to replace the tubes. They are vents to equalize the carbs. There are a few good videos on YouTube on carb rebuilds: here is a pretty good one

I will watch that video and try to learn.  I only searched for CB500 and 550 carb videos, not anything for a 750.  I should'a broadened my search.

  Many thanks,

Rick

Yea he floats around this forum every once in a while and he did a great job documenting his builds, I believe that he took some time off to pursue other things after that bike build. I also learned a ton watching his videos.
