Any input, on a Suzuki SP250? About an '80 model, I think.
« on: January 04, 2017, 05:30:12 PM »

My close Buddy nearby, passed it off to me and it is in pretty good shape. The lights and brackets had been removed, so it is for off road only, in it's current configuration. This was my Buddy's Brother-In-Law's motorcycle. My Buddy maintained it for him, whenever it needed something. My Buddy's Sister had passed away a few years back and about a year ago, my Buddy's Brother-In-Law just reached the point where he wasn't able to ride much any more, because of medical issues and so he gave the Suzuki to my Buddy. My Buddy didn't really have any need for another motorcycle and didn't want to just sell it though. So, he turned to me and asked me if I wanted it. He knew it would be in good hands that way and so, I have it now. Seems like a decent enough 'lil bike. About all I have done with it so far, is to clean it up a lot. So anyway, I just wondered if anyone out there, has had any dealings with an SP250 and I am just looking for input on it.

I'll try to get a photo up, of it, sometime tomorrow.

No dealings with that model but every Suzuki I've come in contact with or owned has been one fine bike...Larry

Thanks for posting, Larry. Only Suzuki I ever had, that was a runner, was a TS125 and it was a pretty decent ride. Got a lot of miles and fun from that one. Got the wheels blown off of my Honda CB72, by a Suzuki X-6 Hustler, Back in the day. I kept working on my Honda and that X-6 Kept on beating me, though not as bad as at first.

X-6 was a 250 I think, reckon it would blow the doors off those bikes..

Yeah, the X-6 was a 250. I knew I couldn't outrun the bike, just keep working on mine though and hoping for a bit of rider error, that I could take advantage of though.  I did out run another Suzuki 250, that was setup for track racing, but I think that X-6 would have blown that one away too, with no problem. I stripped mine down, as far as possible and all that X-6 guy did, was to tape up his lights, in case of crashing. Mine was sitting there, sounding bad, with open reverse cone megaphones and his was sitting there so quiet, you could hardly hear it, because of mine.  ::) Guy dropped the flag and that X-6 Left, quickly.
