Don't let that hold you back. I have an inkling what the bike should sell for, and it is unique. Will be interested in what it can draw.

Look close and you see all kinds of period kit. This thing has it all, brakes/masters, wheels, rotors, carbs, frame. The current price would cover the frame and wheels, maybe.
All you gotta do is do what you gotta do.

Would be nice if the seller would update his listing to include some history on the bike.

guessing your talking about the brake rotors?  yes, cast iron rotors will look rusty without use for a couple weeks time.  They also will stop your bike quickly unlike the shiny stainless ones on all your bikes.  Park your truck for a week and a half this summer and ride your bikes.  After that week and a half, take a peek and see how rusty your brakes are.
If it works good, it looks good...

I sent the seller a note asking for some history. (I'll bet that nice Mr. Rieck would buy it for me.  8))

We'll see how long it takes for the verbal abuse to begin!!

Needle bearing rocker shafts??

Yep, guy at Barber that had a CR750 said his was done that way as well. They take the rocker tower and bore the holes to take individual needle bearings then all back together. I don't really see the point since so much else can be done to make noticeable power.

Bore is always limited, probably to 1mm oversize. Needles are a cool mod reducing friction.

Thanks for not cursing me in public Mike!  ;)

Honestly someone should buy this bike & race it. It has lots of goodies including those Amol Precision needle shafts. I sent the seller a note & he replied with a phone # asking me to call, saying it would take an hour to peck out all the mods on his keyboard. I'm travelling and talking the time isn't in the cards. Anyone interested can PM me & I'll pass along his number. The bike's in Arlington,VA

I finally found the article from Motorcyclist, good read and typical story of vintage motorcycle racing. People always think a built 750 should kill smaller bikes, this final part of the story is reality.

I remember at Mosport 2008 I probably could have bought Kurt Liebmann's CR750 very cheap. I dropped by his pit to talk to him. He had dropped a valve (5mm conversion) that day and was fit to be tied. This was the second ruined top end in as many weeks. Kurt's bike was a real beauty.

I'm sorry but I don't see $30k there. Lots of trick parts yeah but I'm thinking you could build it new for what the buyer paid.
