CB750 K'76 Revival
« on: January 07, 2017, 12:43:33 PM »
I don't want to bore you guys with another restoration story that you may have seen a few times already, but I do want to start this thread mainly because as I go along, I will most certainly need the help of the experts and ask questions.
This will be a thread with really slow progress as the project is being attacked together with some others that may have priority and this may have to be pushed on the back burner occasionally.
As I already posted in my introduction, I bought a 76 CB750 with 9300 original miles in 1999. I started to take it all apart and began to accumulate parts to redo it.
The frame was blasted and painted with Eastwood Chassis Black.
Right now, I am unsure if I want to bring it back as a stock looking bike or turn it into a "custom".
As the engine will have to be put together first, I have some time to think about this.

here are a few pictures of what the bike looked like when I got it, and two hints of the alternative directions.
1973 CB350F -sold
1974 CB350F -218 orig miles, sold
1976 CB750K - in restoration

Other Hondas:
3 x CBX
CB1100R
GB500
Plus Kawasakis, BMws & Ducatis

I will put the motor together in the next few weeks. I just got the head vapor blasted. It looks like new. Some comparison to another head that I would consider being in great condition.
The cool thing is, I have access to abrasive blasting, vapor blasting, powder coating and painting through an associate of mine which will give me the opportunity to do some swell stuff.
