Rear shock bolts: 750 vs. 550
« on: January 08, 2017, 05:47:18 AM »
The 550 and 750 both use a 10X32 bolt for the lower shock mount. But I see different part #'s for them. One is significantly cheaper than the other when getting genuine parts. What's the difference?

 550 part#: 93101-10032-0A
 750 part#: 93201-10032-0B

Check that the pitch is the same. I know the 750 uses a fine pitch here (1.0mm from memory) which is unusual on a 10mm bolt.

Hmm - my parts place Cyclepartsnation shows the 550 0A part as unavailable and the 0B-750 bolt as $1.95 each. Both are listed as 10x32. Cross reference shows different bikes for each. Might be a thread difference ??

Yeah, that's what I was finding, too. Some on eBay listed both models but the part #'s didn't cross reference. I did find a guy that had a set that included the bolts, washers and acorn nuts, so I grabbed it.
Sometimes, it's the shipping on those $2-3 parts that get ya!

I'm lucky because Cyclepartsnation is my local big box dealership here in Kalamazoo called Zeigler Motorsports and can order and pick the stuff up for free in a couple of days. Only a mile from my shop and know a lot of the guys in there.Get a little freebie over the counter now and then if I need an o-ring or something.

OA and OB refer to the finish. One is PROBABLY chrome and the other not.

Did not know that Jerry. Doesn't seem like Honda would use a different thread pitch for that part for bikes of the same era.

If I remember well,
First digit of the suffix refers to the material: 0=High Carbon Steel
Second digit is about the surface treatment:  A=Zinc Plate (white) B=Chrome Plate
