CB550 Front Wheel Bearings
« on: January 08, 2017, 08:57:38 PM »
Doing the front wheel bearings on my 76 550F and bent one of the 3 prongs on the end of the collar/spacer that goes between the two bearings. I bent it back into place but would like to know if I should consider replacing the part because I couldn't get it perfect. I couldn't find what the purpose of the prongs are either because they don't seem to touch anything. Anyone know?

Those arms are just there to help install and center it. Once it's all installed that shaft (and not those arms) creates a column along with the bearings and spacers that support the axle.

Short version. Don't worry, install it.
