Need advice getting paranoid
« on: December 05, 2006, 10:27:08 PM »
I have been enjoying my cb even if it has just been cleaning it till I get the carbs straight but over the last week I have gotten more negitve comments on it on myspace that I am starting to think I am missing something. My answer post a pic here and you guys tell me what I need to add or remove.I know everyone has different tast but I must be doing something wrong to get some many comments from looks like a gay bike to that is a old p.o.s.I didn't brag about it on myspace or anything heck I never mention it I just have a pic of it stored in the pic section so I could download it to my phone. :P

Myspace is full of kids who probably were not alive when that bike was built.

I'm not a fan of that style, I like the older ones better but doesn't look like theres a thing wrong with your bike.

Does not look like a POS. Looks like its been taken care of and loved.

Mate - tell 'em to get stuffed and do your own thing. You ride it cos it's yours and you like it, not to satisfy others tastes.

If I like a bike I tell the guy...on the other hand, if I think it's a POS, I keep it to myself.

Like Pete and Tim said, It's been looked after and now it's yours, if you like it, what dose it matter.

Another thing to take into cosideration is,...where are the people from that are calling it a POS.

Mr Honda made your bike look like that because, that was probably the style Honda USA asked him for.

The European models where made in the mold of what sold in Europe, and saying that,..he made us a few dogs. ;D

Don't worry,  just enjoy :)

Hell I like the color.

My opinion is pretty unvarnished.

Looks like a clean example of the breed.

Would I ride it? Yes. Minus the saddlebags  ;D

I am starting think the problem is that 91% of the people on myspace are young kids who think if it is not a crotch rocket it is not a bike. ;D

Dude its Myspace!

Basically a hook up site for the cyber generation. We live in a throw away society. If its not the latest and greatest then people don't get it.

Who gives a #$%* what people on a myspace think. The whole thing is one big popularity contest. Know why it feels like high school all over again on there? Because its populated by Highschoolers!  :D Go figure.

I ride because it makes me happy. Its a solitary pursuit when all else is considered. Just you and the bike. Any bike is better than no bike.

Ask your critics for pictures of thier bikes.

Its a clean cared for bike. That tells me all I need to know about it and you. Ride on.

And by the way...this is a much better post then Jabbadanut's "Am I attractive or not"  :D ;D ;D ;D ;)

Looks like a nice bike,   they probably said its "gay" because of the purple color but it looks ok to me...

as far as old POS,  to most ppl if its not a Harley or a crotch rocket it isnt a bike   screw them they probably arent old enought to drive a car much less ride a motorcycle

Just ignore the little twerps. You liked it, you fronted with the cash and bought it. It's yours for a whole lot of reasons so F them all. My pretty straight 69 K0 has been called a 'spaghetti framed piece of sh*t that won't brake or handle, it's a joke" so I guess you are in good company.

Hey, why did you put that gay bike in the middle of the picture! I can't see the electric guitar...  ;D

You have to put everything into context. That bike looks OK to me, but doesn't look OK if it was the bike of a 20 year old guy. If the people who make the comments are that young, and they think you are the same age, then there is some sense on the comment. The same hawaiian shirt with wich I look ridiculous can make some other guy look terribly cool.

Seriously, don't be insecure...  who the hell cares what other people think.  If you like the bike, that is all that should matter.  If you need affirmation and, if others are going to influence your decisions, then sell the bike to a CB guy.

It reminds me of the bike Prince rode in Purple Rain( I think it was a gold wing though).  Chicks dig Prince and they definitely dug his bike. :)
