Cb400F Air filter
« on: March 01, 2017, 06:08:48 AM »
Hello. I have a 400F that i'm modifying a bit, purely aesthetic. I have removed the original filterbox and now have to decide if i should go the pods route or not. I wondered if it would be possible to keep the plenum mounted to the carbs, and then mount a bigger oval "pod" filter to the plenum, using the original metal tunnel. Would this setup provide enough air compaired to the original air box, and would it be a more "stable" solution than the normal pods? Or should i just forget it? Can't find anything about it anywhere, so that should probably be a big hint i guess.

Cheers

Got a run of jets and a box of new plugs ready to test with until you find the right combination?  ;D

My understanding on the 400f is on a stock motor, leave the airbox.  It won't run well with pods and no mods to the motor.  On big bored and ported ones they can be tuned fairly well.
