Newbie from Colorado Springs
« on: January 14, 2017, 10:44:28 AM »
Hello everyone! My name is Robert and I'm currently living in Colorado Springs, CO. I picked up a '77 CB750f over a year ago but it had to sit in my garage as I took a trip to the Middle East. Now that I'm back I'm starting to get some work done on it. I've always loved older motorcycles and was excited when I picked this one up for only $500!

I don't have many photos of the bike when I bought it as that phone no longer works. Here's what I'm working with now:

I've split the cases and sent the head out to get work done. Here are the cases split, trying to get them prepped for new paint:

Got a lot of work to do but I'm excited to get in to it!

Rob

Hi Rob, and welcome to sohc4 and welcome back from the Mideast. You have all kinds of help here if you need it, but sounds like you are well on your way. You will need a few more posts for your pictures to show up. Start a thread in the project shop to track your work.

You are way ahead of me, living in the Springs with a CB. I have been there twice with mine but didn't get to stay too long. On another visit I made it into Cheyenne Mountain, and another time blew the trans in my Plymouth hustling down the Pikes Peak road with a faint 10 yr old that didn't like 14000ft

Love the Springs! Can't wait to get the CB up and running and on some of the roads behind the Front Range. Still haven't made it into Cheyenne Mountain but the view from the top of Pikes is amazing!

The CB made it up and down ok. It probably could have used a shot of nitrous near the top or some sort of rejet, I don't know.

made it into Cheyenne Mountain
The 70s were quite a bit different, I'd probably be shot or imprisoned today for driving past a half dozen signs that said "don't drive past this sign", the guard was cool, his CO was cool, and my bride and I got to tour with the Lieutenants and their brides.
