Topic: Riding withdrawal, am I alone?

Anyone else go through this? This is my second winter since the K2 has been roadworthy but its rather difficult this year. Last winter, I was too preoccupied with getting the K3 done, so didn't miss being on two wheels as much. How do you deal with it?

I fit in a 20 minute ride here and there.   I got out yesterday....though its hard to find a dry thawed road these days.
Its been crazy cold this winter.

Spring is coming.

i developed a special method this winter: was down for 2 weeks with a really nasty combo of flue and eye infection. that keeps you on the couch not missing getting out...

I had a 15 year MC layoff while my kids were growing up so a few months during the winter is........ painful. But I look to it as a time for bigger repairs on the CB.
 I have been trying to wrangle a wintertime rental ride to Key West. There is an Eagle Rider right next to Miami airport. I did an off season rental ride through Arizona a few years back that was super.
 My co-worker told me he got 150 miles on his new Indian last week when the roads were clear and dry and the thermometer was near 40F. Too cold for me, and the roads around here are full of holes from the daily freeze-thaw.
 So I just wait for April 15, when it might be 60F on a regular basis. There might be the odd day that makes 60F before then and you gotta be ready to go, don't hesitate.

I work on my bikes during the 5 month "layoff' period here in Northeast Ohio. Got enough to do to provide me with my fill of "octane"

We did have the odd ball nice day here and there, but after seeing what the disastrous amounts of salt being dumped on the streets have done to my car, I simply can't put my bikes through it

My withdrawal is self inflicted. Neither of my bikes are operable, they are winterized.
(pipes are off and hanging in a dry room from the rafters, tanks seats and sides
stored in same area, and batteries removed and bowls drained.) I can't ride till
probly April. Main reason I do this, imo, is that helps keep the 4/4 factory exhausts
alive. Gives me time to do needed maintenance and improvements as well, so
symptoms aren't so bad

Pretty brutal here, lows around 60, highs near 80. Summertime is my winter. From June through Sept it's either smokin' hot or raining sideways. May try to ride to work one day this week...

I think it might've dipped into the low 60s here in Phoenix over the weekend. Pretty hard to handle the cold, but we make the best of it. Sometimes I have to wear gloves.

no Rafi, you are not alone...I'm going #$%*ing crazy.  Hopefully, I can get out a little later this week.  It's supposed to be over forty and heavy rain today should have washed most of the salt away.

This is the first Winter 'non-riding'..  season that I haven't ridden.I usually keep the bike going year-round when it get's 40 or above,and it HAS gotten nice and warm too for a Lot of days  so it's tough to not just fire the bike up and ride it and f&*k the salt on the roads.. They put some heavy rock salt down here around the Pittsburgh vicinity and i've been hating how it etches my alloy parts and eats-away at the steel stuff.I have to park the bike outside and have no water hose to hose it down here.. I've ordered a few parts and waiting on the machinist for a couple things..
I'm waiting for the Spring showers w/ lot's of rain to wash the stuff off the roads real good,then I'll be on the bike 90% of the time  Spring Time is Coming and I'm a Rider more than an auto driver.

I'm in the same boat in the socal desert, 60's-70's for highs with chilly mornings.  We have a few cold snaps of below freezing nights, but not to often.  Summers are BRUTALLY HOT here 105+ for 3 months or so but you can ride comfortably in the early mornings and late evenings or get away to the mountains for the day, I ride mostly year round.
