If I remember correctly, Uncle Sammy, Scunny and I had a wager on the result some years ago.
A beer was the bet I think.
How about we revive that bet?  :D

Cheers,
Brian

Is it that time of year already?  ;D I'll let you guys ramp it all up! Just another run of the mill classic race weekend, LOL.

Ferry Brouwer has a cool past, wouldn't mind sitting around a campfire listening to some of his stories.

Ok Simon it's a bet with a beer to be replaced with the beverage of your choice.
I'm happy to take on all comers, anyone else?

Cheers,
Brian

I still owe you Brian, double up time me thinks.  ;D
See the Britten with Stroudy as the pilot will be there, sadly not racing and aiding my chances.

The first PI after my accident was not one of my better efforts. :o

A blown gear box in the first race put paid to my glorious return. ::)

We where using one of our spare motors so no HD gears.

I spent the rest of the weekend drinking beer and annoying the piss out of anyone I could pin down.  ;D

Cheers,
Brian

Looks like the Beaton and Phillis DNF's may have cost us big time.
Wonder why only the one race was run on Saturday?

McWilliams and Hickman are the standouts at this stage.
It looks as if the Irving Vincent was terminal unfortunately.

Think they mean a BSB race winner rather than a BSB champion.

Well done the Brits - again!!!  ;)

well hickmans crash in the last race that nearly took out mcwilliams made it all a bit closer than i would have liked
but we managed to win . this event seems to get better every year , a great mix of old and young ridders

ah teebee that could be the reason , he did win one [ or maybe two ] this yeat

Agreed, I'm in awe that they made that Vincent that fast.

Also amazed that these 30+ yr. old hybrids can circulate at the pace they do. They're nudging modern 600 Supersport times.

yes a 1.36 is moving on a bit . still 3 seconds off the supersport lap record but as you say those times would put you at the front of a national supersport race
not bad for an old 2 valve motor in a steel frame !

when i raced old 250's and 350's i would always see how my times compared to the 600's . they were never as fast of course [ old man on an old bike ] but
i would have a look at the mid field times and aim to be within a couple of seconds of them . the trouble with comparing yourself with other classics is you can easily think
you are fast just because you are beating slow riders , the times young lads trying hard on 600's do soon bring you back to reality !

after asking, went and found some nice on board footage on youtube
see mcwilliams do an outstanding job of not running over Peter Hickman (I think?) and parts of his yamaha
