Hello from Czech
« on: January 25, 2017, 07:49:27 AM »
Hi,
I`m Pavel from Czech Republic and my story starts 1/2 year back when I saw same article about Prague Gentleman's Ride.
Till this point I started thinking to build CafeR. But later I find that its impossible to build legal CafeRacer at CzechRepublic - everything need homologation, and you need to pass every 2 years TechnicalInspection and other problems.

But then I see original Honda CB 750 and I fell in love :-)

And now it`s 2 weeks since I bought Honda CB 750 K2 1972! Probably, because all parts are at boxes :-) But I check it and it looks complete.
My CB750 its from England where was 1st registred 1972, at years 1977?-1980 someone use it for racing. And since 1980 was stored.
At tacho is just 11000 miles, cam looks like new and have roller bearings (its stamped R2), valves looks OK (but i thing not original), cilinders are afrer 1st gringing. At front weel are 2 disks and at rear is one. (alloy wheels, but i have original wheels too) And I have also original racing fiberglass "bodykit"

Later I will post same pictures, if you can help me identify bodykit it will be great.

Thanks for the warm welcome!

And first questions about colors. Its possible find from SN original color scheme? I cant decide if I make it Flake sunrise Orange or Brier Brown Metallic.
Original frame color was always black?

There are a few pictures:

http://www.motorcycleproject.com/text/lubrtech.html

not sure if it is USA only or the whole world.

Yes, the frame afaik was always black.

The fairing looks like Hondaline to me but hopefully somebody will pitch in.  (fairing is the word Americans use for what you called bodykit :))

Hello from Wisconsin............Looks like your bike's front-end and rear wheel/brake were borrowed from a later model........maybe 77-82 era. I sold a CB750K6 (1976) to one of your fellow countrymen via ebay. When he found out I had more bikes he bought a K1 and shipped both bikes at the same time. US model designations may not be the same as those sold in Europe.

Welcome and Good Fortune :) :) :) :) :)

Welcome to the forums!
One of your countrymen there sent his father's' long-parked CBX Six to his brother here in Colorado last year. He took out the rusted-still engine and brought it to me for resto last Fall: I just delivered it back to him last week, fully rebuilt, so he can finish rebuilding the bike. He was in Czech at Christmas to visit his family there, I wish I has seen your post then so I could tell him! You have many helpers here.

In the USA, the Orange Flake color first appeared in 1973 (K3 model), and Garnet Brown and Briar Brown appeared first in late 1971 (on K2 model).
See SOHC4shop@gmail.com for info about the gadgets I make for these bikes.
