Ok, long story short, I don't think the R6 flywheel/stator will be the answer.....


and, according to all of my measurements the tapers are not the same. although an adapter COULD be made, I still don't think it'll be possible to get the flywheel to fit into the cb650 cover.
I drew the adapter up anyway, would look like this:

autocad calculated angle of taper is 5.4 degrees for cb650, 1.57 degrees for R6. I assume with margin of error in my quick measuring that its more like 6* and 2*. I'd have to cut both in half to get accurate measurements using tools I have at hand, which I probably won't do.
Looks like I'll look into the VFR parts, or maybe cbr600rr parts to see if honda used the same taper that new.
