can anyone tell me if you can interchange exhaust pipes between 550 hondas and 550 yamahas or kawasakis or suzukis? i'm haveing a hell of a time finding a set of pipes for my 75 550k1 honda and thought if i can interchange them from another bike in the same cc class my search would be easier.

Yeah, a 550 Kawasaki 2-1 collector will slip over your 550 honda head pipes. I don't know about the rest of the Kawasaki system, but I've run 2-1 mufflers on my 550s before.

If you've got the $$$ your local honda shop should be able to get them for you. Mine were priced at $285 PER PIPE- Yikes-more than I paid for the bike!
Good Luck!

David Silver has 500 (323) exhausts for £79 each NOS. These look the same as the American 550 4-4 exhausts. No doubt the mountings and rear footrest mounting would be different.
