aftermarket taillight problem
« on: February 01, 2017, 05:16:24 PM »
I have a 71 cb500 and bought a taillight from 4 into 1. It seems to work fine with ignition on but when I put on brakes, you can barely tell the light difference. It supposed to have a dual filament bulb and i dont think its LED. Any suggestions?

You probably have the wires mised up. The dim filament should be tail, bright is stop. Sounds like those are swapped. There are also other ways to mix up the wires.

I screwed up a brake pedal adjustment and it pulled the sensor so the brake light was "always on".  I felt dumb.

I've switched the wires around and it wasn't that. I will try the brake switch and see if that's it.
