What did you buy in a moment of weakness?
« on: January 31, 2017, 11:07:44 AM »
Everyone sees that thing on ebay or wherever and its just a few clicks away and then its yours!

Here is mine for today. I use geo-ship since it will search every ebay site, not just US and I cam across these babies. How could I say no to matched pair?! The clutch is NLA from AP Racing but spares are still available. I guess I'll have to perfect the hydraulic clutch conversion, huh?

What did you buy?
All you gotta do is do what you gotta do.

Albin 25? Nice boat, they last forever. I looked at those but ended up with this as an impulse buy, for $500 USD I couldn't really pass it up. A guy at work said he couldn't get it started so offered me a deal. It took me all of a day to fix what was wrong and now it runs like a swedish sewing machine!  ;D

Weakness is a day when not order anything or no package during shipping from USA, UK, Germany, France, Japan where most of the CB stuff is coming from. China stuff sometimes too. Action cams almost free from that direction. Wify want us to buy an apartment on Gran Canaria and pay it before retirement. My pile of money will not grow fast enough  when I find other stuff :)

no not a albin.the albins costs 3 times more then a Ejvind.

They do here as well. That's why I passed on them. $500 vs $20,000 was a no brainer and avoided a divorce. Besides we only have a three month boating season around here. And I wouldn't have been able to buy this (another impulse buy!)  if I spent too much on a boat.  8) And I get to enjoy this one on a daily basis. Even more than my Honda Moto.

I bought a bank of carbs for my cb550 on Ebay, because the auction was going to end soon and I couldn't remember if my project came with any...couldn't find all the boxes.  1/2 hour after winning the auction I found my box of carbs, now I have 3 banks.  of course all three probably need to be rebuilt!  At least the parts are interchangeable.

Don't really buy anything "in a moment of weakness", but I may buy something on an impulse - if that is the same?? ???

last thing was a 1978 BMW R100S "barnfind", that I hid at work from my wife for 4 months until it was ready to ride. She likes it!

K2 cb750 x 1124cc dragbike. It had the rear rolled rim the PO removed from my sandcast, I had to buy it.

More recently, 6 cb750's at once. None ran, for that matter none run now either. From the 6, I got 5 titles, 3 frames junk, 3 motors stuck, one sandcast engine, one pretty complete bike. One roller.
