Maybe not weakness, but boredom? I want to have more oiling cans with cutting oils and other machine oils all dedicated and labeled around my shop. I was planning on getting new ones because I thought they'd be cheap but I found a lot of the old Eagle, Craftsman and Plume oilers for like $5 a piece. I kept making offers on eBay and went to sleep then woke up to find they all accepted. I'm going to be getting like 10 packages to a total of about 25 oilers...what the hell am I going to do with these things?

Start a thread on how handy and nice it is to have these things around the shop.  Then, post a for sale ad over in the classified section.

Just a thought...create the market and supply them, just like any dr--- er, salesman would

I like that. Maybe withhold the supply a bit to drive the price up like the diamond industry. I bet I could sell these things for thousands...

I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

No I have never seen them and yes it's worth it to lose the comstars. I'm guessing the rear is the same a earlier F models but the front is what's different.

At 3 am while cruising the internet, I pulled the trigger on a set of DSS repro 4-4 no number pipes for the K1. BOOM.
Don, do you know if they ever fixed the problem with the misalignment of the equalizer tube between the 3 and 4 pipes ?

rear accepts f3's five bolt rotor,  cant remember for sure but I think f0/1 use a six bolt rotor and I don't know if you can easily swap the whole wheel/rotor/caliper between the two

Does the front wheel match the F3's rotor disc pattern Sean? Cheers, Terry. :D

My 1994 Harley Sportster is only fitted with one front disc, and the single piston front caliper is OK, but not great. (actually it's rubbish, almost as bad a CB750) I've wanted to upgrade it ever since I did some engine mods that increased it's top speed from less than 90 MPH stock to around 120 MPH now.

I spotted a used 4 piston PM caliper on Ebay and bought it, but there's not enough clearance between the back of the caliper and the spokes, so that was a waste of $200. I might see if I can't fab up a bracket to put it on the back.

I did another search recently and Ultima are selling a 4 piston front caliper that will supposedly fit my bike. I dropped another $300, so I hope this will work........... ;D

My VTR1000 "Streetfighter" project is coming along nicely, but I'm constantly surprised at how high the seat is. Back in the 1970's a lot of short blokes (and girls) bought CB500/550's over CB750's due to the high seat, well I'm tall, but due to the angle of the seat/rear subframe, the VTR1000 seat must be at least an inch or two taller than a CB750.

I found an adjustable lowering kit that will drop it up to 3 inches lower at the rear, with the added benefit of increasing the rake at the front, for a more stable ride. It was $215 with shipping, but then I realised that I'd also need to buy an adjustable side stand (no centre stand on modern sports bikes) which at 200 bucks plus another 100 for shipping from the US, doubled the price of this particular mod.

Luckily, a seller in the US had the exact adjustable sidestand for $30, plus only $30 postage, a savings of around $200, so I pulled the trigger. Is there a mouse I can buy that's shaped like a gun? I pull the trigger so often on ebay I should change my ID to "Gunslinger"......... ;D

correcting myself here...just opened the boxes and had a panic attack.  But everything is ok, F2/3 actually has 6 bolt rear rotor just like the f0/1

Jeez Terry even mentioning a lowering kit, has put people in for a rough ride around here..
I remember racing against one of the VTR,s ..off a light..on my tired 836...holeshotted him bad... He caught me at about 80 or 85 mph.
I could see him gaining in my mirror..just could not hold him off...

My stretched and lowered 836 had a bit more rake..preferred that out on the road.. It has 77/78K trees..

No mate, this bike was a crashed wreck that I had to re-Frame (even though the original Frame was undamaged) but the plastics were destroyed along with the tank, Yoshi pipes, etc etc. That headlight unit is just a cheap aftermarket item, but I liked it because the actual headlight is very similar to the VTR's.

Frank, you must have caught that VTR rider napping, are you sure it wasn't a VTR250? The 1000 has way more torque than a tired old Honda four, and will blow a lot of modern fours into the weeds. They were designed to beat Ducati's, and don't do a bad job. ;D

THAT Honda platform (V-Twin superbike) is something else.  I absolutely loved my RC51 -- the Superhawk on steroids.  BOTH pull like a freight train, and have awesome brakes, too.  Lots of racing heritage, too -- championships with Nicky Hayden and Colin Edwards, and TT wins by Joey Dunlop.  The Superhawk was more humane than the RC in terms of ergos.

"There are some things nobody needs in this world, and a bright-red, hunch-back, warp-speed 900cc cafe racer is one of them — but I want one anyway, and on some days I actually believe I need one.... Being shot out of a cannon will always be better than being squeezed out of a tube. That is why God made fast motorcycles, Bubba." Hunter S.
