Topic: bench race building a cycle x 3 wheeler

 I've never been a big fan of trikes buuuut,
 If I sell a few bikes I'm considering building a 3 wheeler for someone that needs 3 wheels. My thought was buy a cycle x bulldog frame with a Honda neck and their rear axle. I'm thinking 10 spoke Mags and tall skinny tires on the back and a gl1000 double disc front end. I have several parts bikes, drag pipes, an 836 k1 engine,
 What are thoughts on rear fenders. etc. I'd like to build it minimalist hiding as many wires and cables as possible. 40 willys repop tail lights are same as Indian that would be cool.  Ideas?

 The other option is a sidecar on his Goldwing.

Sidecar rigs are 3-wheelers, obviously, and I am very fond of these. I raced a BMW powered Dieter Busch built kneeler rig in the 70s and I caught that bug. My dream motorcycle buy would be Krauser Domani, unfortunately never available in the U.S.

Its a little too late for that. It is a late 80s rig. It has a BMW K100 motor. Still, I would LOOOOOVE to get one. Couple of years ago, one was for sale in Germany for 16,000 Euro. The euro was at $1.50 back then and getting the thing to the U.S. and on the road was cost prohibitive. At least for me it was.

 The repro 10 spokes are a bolt on, 5 on 4 3/4" small chevy. Seems too easy to not do it. Being a hardtail I'd think a tall tire would be better for the ride and would work with the look.

 I guess car wires would bolt up too, that would be cool and keep the theme. I've been looking for an excuse to buy a set of 10 spokes since they came back out.

 Those sidecar bikes are amazing, I've never seen one like that.

 $1500 for the rear end and $1000 for the frame at cycle x, that's reasonable enough but the trim adds up. the questions would be foot controls, seat, tank, You'd want the chain idler, and the handlebars would be interesting. It would be good to see one with an average size person on it to get an idea of the length from seat to bars.

 Why, yes. I'm working on converting some bikes to cash, there's only one proper thing to do. Buy more bikes.

Define "afford". Airheads are really low maintenance. Built like tanks. This one has really low mileage. I may consider taking the rig apart and selling bike and hack separately.

Well, it depends on what you start with.
I bought this '78 R100S for $2,150.- It had been parked without fluids for 14 years. It took me a couple of hours each day for 3 months, elbow grease and approx. $1,200.- in parts and purchased service of which the largest single item was the exhaust. Easily worth $5,000 now

Here are some pics of the 1974 BMW R90/6 sidecar rig.

The make of the hack is currently unknown. I have to dig a little deeper on this. The bike is in good running condition. It has a Vetter fairing, Lester wheels and Krauser bags. It also has a fabricated rack with a topcase also of unknown provenance. Asking price is $6,000 obo. If there is interest for the bike and the sidecar separately, it can be taken apart.  ,I'd love to see my brother on a sidecar bike or trike. That would extend his riding for a few more seasons. He just bought a car I'll mention it and see if he wants to look at the pics. We just drove through Ohio twice this week and spent a day in Dayton at the Airforce museum.

 Should have gotten my stuff together, we were in Dayton last week. I went to WV to buy an early 750 engine and a few parts.
