Honda Dealership signs in garage/shop
« on: March 25, 2012, 08:45:22 PM »
Anyone else have old Honda dealer signs hanging up?  Found this somewhat local, and size is overkill.  These were sent out to honda motorcycle dealers circa mid 70's early 80's.  This particular sign was outside a Honda motorcycle dealership for at least 25+ years.  Each letter is 3x3.  Built the frame from door trim parts at home depot, slotted angle iron rail in the middle with slim fluorescent fixtures behind that are easily linked together.

I have been into bikes and vintage advertising for quite a long time.. Any real motorcycle or bicycle dealer signs are very scarce... pretty hard to find

There's actually a few sets of this particular sign available on craigslist right now (used allofcraigs to search)  Some are priced reasonable (I paid 200 bucks for the set), others are asking thousands.

There's actually a set on ebay right now.  He wants 1200 for starting bid.  ::)

That is fairly current signage, try finding earlier stuff.. it is out there but generally pricey..

Big signs, and plastic signs are the  lower end of the price scale,  there are a few exceptions though..

I remember seeing those big red HONDA letters most of my life... I'm not that old, but I'm not "fairly current" either.

In 1971 my brother and I bought an existing Honda dealership. My brother retired about 1994 and his son became my partner. In 2009 the economy was too much for us and we had to close. We had the 3'x3' modular sign for many rears until Honda required us to update to their latest edition. We gave the sign to a customer of ours and I don't know if it's displayed now or not. These pictures are of the signs that I've got in my garage. They are about all I have room for.

Bob, you wouldn't still have that lighted Honda dealer sign, would you?

Got the same one in my shop. Plus the banner and a Honda flag given to me by a dealer.

Here is that pic of the HONDA flag my dealer gave me. I have seen them on eBay. It dresses up the shop nicely.
