Hola from Ireland!! CB550 F (Photos Inside)
« on: February 04, 2017, 02:42:23 PM »
Hello all

At first, sorry about my english, I come from Spain,  but I'm in Ireland since a short time back.

Recently I bought this Honda Cb 550 F '77, well I'm not sure if it's a F series or K series, maybe is a Frankenstein bike because in the frame there is a K series on the number plate, can somebody help me about this? I'm not sure what bike I have  :'(

The bike looks like it was repainted, the paintwork in the tank is different than the original, also I didn't see that kind of seat before maybe aftermarket as well....

Kind Regards

The previous owner told me that the bike comes from California, after it went to Dublin, and now it is in Cork, and possible the bike will go to Spain or Sweden in future  ;D

I was thinking about to let the bike in conditional status, but now I know that is a Frankenstein, so maybe I will start to modify some things, maybe the seat, and the paintwork.....

Thanks a million for the answers.

I'm happy with the bike.

But I was wondering if it's good idea to make some holes around the exhaust, the noise from the exhaust is not so loud.

Pop over to www.sohc.co.uk and chat to the Uk (Euro) guys. There's probably someone who can identify your bike..

Use the same username so that we recognise you!

Nice bike. Looks like a regular K with an after-market exhaust is all, but I'm not as trained as many on here.  You can always pull the baffles from the pipes if you want more noise.

Thanks Gene, I made some holes, two around the silencer and one bigger in the centre from the gas exit hole (I suppose in the baffle) but still the same noise  ;D

I don't want to brake the exhaust because is in good condition, but I fell like a I need more noise.

Maybe the only way is to buy a brand new set of 4-1 for noisy bike  8)

Yesterday I have read about the Cb 550 models, I think my bike is a Cb550 K3, because of the fuel tank, for sure the exhaust is not original, also the paintwork and the seat is aftermarket.

I like the Carpy's 4-1 exhaust but I think is only available from USA.
