That makes sense,  I'll have to check for the others.

A day later than I was hoping I have the head, cylinders and oil pan painted. The bottom end still isn't clean though,  my mom complained about her car making noise, so I had to go hunt that down and fix it. Tomorrow it will hopefully be set to go together. That will have to hold off until Monday though. Friday I am going to go pick up a new Dirt bike (mine was stolen a while back,  got it back,  cleaned it,  sold it as is. Didn't want to deal with a beaten to piss 4 stroke race bike) so Friday I will be welcoming a 2009 yz250 to the garage.

No pictures, but I did lap the intake valves, hone the cylinders put new rings on the pistons and drop the cylinders on.
Also have my new clutch friction disks soaking in oil (don't know if that's a normal thing, but I was always taught to do it with the dirt bikes so they're soaking)

Yup, soaking the friction discs is recommended. Why only lap the intake?

Nice progress, hope you remembered the oil jets in the sides of the case.

I just didn't get around to the exhaust ones. I plan to to do them tonight. I did remember the oil jets. Had them soaking to clean them out as well. Only thing I forgot was the cam chain guide which was no big deal,  just lifted the cylinder off a little and dropped it in the slot.

Oh ok, I was confused and thought you only lapped the exhaust seats and then installed the head, I'm stupid.

Nope haha easy to confuse though. It's worded kind of weird.

Anyways today I lapped the intakes,  tested them,  put the head all the way together and dropped it on the motor. It's held on right now with 4 bolts just to hold it all together. Im going out riding this weekend on the Dirtbike so have to change gears and work on that (needs a steering bearing and a new seat cover cause theres a tear that will get worse fast). So this is getting pushed to the side until Sunday.

Disregard the mess,  it's clean now haha.

Here's the new bike, I just threw a shock bearing in, tomorrow I'll be doing the steering bearing,  a new fender (I'm not sure how but he cracked this one)  a new shroud and of course graphics (gotta look good when you ride right?  😂 I got lucky with this thing, 4 hours on a fresh build and all the papers to prove it.

So I finally got back to work on this thing. I went to pull the cam chain through, wiring it to the other cam chain,  and it pulled off the wire. Is there any possible way to get the new cam chain in without fully disassembling the motor?

Managed to pull the new cam chain through after a lot of finagling and have the motor mostly together now.
