Clutch hub rubbers - need a set?
« on: February 09, 2017, 05:36:41 am »
Member Aurelia B20 is setting me up with a set of his clutch hub rubbers and bolts but it costs the same to ship 1-3 units. If anyone needs a set and wants to split shipping, I can send them out to you USPS once I get them and your share of the shipping cost. Let me know and I will coordinate with Aurelia B20.

Here is the info:

I sent my clutch hub to Germany for the job. Did it twice, earlier hub and a K6. They replaced the needle bearings too in the last one.

You should email Aurelia B20 and see. As long as it doesnt change the price for the three of us from a shipping standpoint, I don't see the harm. Aurelia B20 quoted same shipping for 1-3 but adding a 4th might not be a big deal but only he will know for sure.

George if you are in for two that would make 3 with dragracer. You guys may be able to get something going on your own or if the seller is fine with it, hitch a ride with the others. It's all a numbers game on international shipping.
All you gotta do is do what you gotta do.

Thanks for the info. I didn't realize there was a major issue with limiting the quantity due to shipping. I'll get with George.

Great Mike.  I sent him a PM yesterday asking about whether it was more or less convenient for him to send a separate package directly to Frankie (with my 2 sets included)

No big deal either way.

I didn't catch the price per set, anyone know offhand?

George, with todays conversion rates, you are looking at about $92 plus shipping.

OK, sounds fine. I'm in for two sets.  Good to have one "on the shelf".

Thanks for the feedback Mike.  I heard they were worth using.

I have been in contact with Patrick.  Slikwilli, MRieck, and Medyo are in for a kit each(I THINK).  Unless it creates an issue, between Frankie (dragracer) and I we'll take 3 kits and do ours separately to simplify stuff and get Frankie's set to him as fast as feasible (racing season is coming up FAST)

Patrick is putting our details together now so we can expidite delivery.

Good deal, will do.  He mentioned some people having trouble using PayPal overseas.

Slikwilli, can you PM me Patrick's PayPal name so I can proceed?

Did you guys receive an email with a PayPal bill from Patrick or just send money his way.  I haven't received the PayPal bill he mentioned yet.

Now I understand why we sold 9 kits to USA in one week !  8)

Thanks to all, especially Matt, George and Alan for the orders, and Mike Rieck for the kind words about our kit's quality.

I have to tell you the story of these kits : I am a fan of the 60's and 70's Honda bikes and like to restore them to the highest original standards. I met another crazy guy, like me, on a French Honda forum, and we tried to find a solution about the CB750 and Goldwing primary damper rubbers that are not available from Honda.

This another crazy guy, Jean, worked all his life for Renault, one of the greatest car's manufacturers in France. Now retired, like me, he knew very well all the subcontractors of Renault as he was Quality Manager. He contacted a specialist in France, established technical specifications and quality controls. Then we had to pay the mould, very expensive, and launched a first batch of 20 kits. Tests made on our CB750 were excellent and we sold the other kits to forum friends.

Today we have sold more than 100 kits and made last year some improvement, especially concerning rubber's diameter : + 0.15 mm in the aim to reduce the operating clearance.

About shipping cost : each kit weighs 0.110 kg, shipping from France to USA by Colissimo (French Post service) with tracking and insurance is as follows :
- under 0.5 kg : €23.70  -  OK for 1 to 3 kits + packaging
- under 1 kg : €26.30  -  OK for 4 to 7 kits + packaging
- under 2 kg : €36.10  -  OK for 8 to 17 kits + packaging

About paypal : it seems that paying from US to France by "friends and family" system is free of charge if you have cash on your account. If you pay by CC, there is near 4% fee for us.

Please ask before paying as Jean in Paris and me in Lyon had our own stock, so you have to pay Jean or me, not the same acccount  8)

A last word : as we are retired and not professional sellers, we have no margin on these kits when we sell them at 87€, that's the reason why we ask 4% more for paypal fee  :'(

You can contact me at honda60.70s*gmail.com, it's easier for me as I receive the mails directly on my mobile phone, I prefer emails than MP on the forum  :)

Cheers
