Hey Guys....thanks again for the nomination!  I've been on vacation [Virgin Islands] just got time to sit down and tell my story:

Fellow forum buddy 70CB750 posted a CL listing like of a '73 CB750 for the low low price of $850 in Virginia.  I found it to be intriguing, called and made the guy an offer and he accepted.  Three weeks later it arrived in Texas and sat in the "Batcave" until early last year. Here is when I brought it home...

Quickly tore it down and it was off for blast and powder...

Both wheels were rebuilt with SS spokes, DID rims and polished hubs.

Motor was painted and put back in the frame.

New Avon in the front, Dunlop on the rear as well as new tubes and rim strips and I had a roller!

Seat was rebuilt with new foam and perforatod marine vinyl.

Beautiful SS oil tank lines courtesy of forum member MO...

Raask rearsets were sent to Nils for vapor blasting and came out great!

Carbs were bought from forum member BranDen [where is he?!] and pulled the NOS Henry Abe "breadbox" filter off the shelf. New insulators and clamps, of course...

Decided to go with the MotoGP exhaust and mounting it was a breeze...

After the motor failed the leakdown test, it was given a valve job, honed cylinders and new rings. I came to hate the Ford engine color so the motor was repainted

Frame came to me cut and a shade tree kit was installed. That didnt cut it with me and I installed one from Frank...

New Ikon shocks from Restocycle....

Sent the bodywork out and after two months finally got it back. What is it with painters?!  Must be the fumes...

Decided to do the fairing in silver like the vintage Honda race bikes back in the day.

Here she is on her first ride to Arrowhead park...

It's just an amature restoration and only took ten months but I am very proud of how it came out.
It really seems to turn heads when I'm out racing to all the area parks!

PS.  Required vacation pic otherwise it didnt happen!

This is the toughest one yet for me. It's difficult to compare Godffery's six year build with Stev-o's restoration because I can appreciate how much effort when into Asian Orange (the tank work alone is outstanding), but Stev-o's work is also top rate. For some reason I'm a huge sucker for a fairing and the Park Racer's more simple style.

Still undecided for now. Later, dj

Each bike has its own merits.  Any 16 year old would get a kick out of being either Stev-o or Godffery's neighbor to sample the bikes in their garages.

Thanks to everyone for the positive feedback on Asian Orange. There was a ton of dead time during the build
but things got really exciting as all the loose ends were brought together in the final year. BTW the long build time is all on me- not Godffery. I'm sure he would love to have seen it done in a year or 2. But it would have been a different bike since lots of things came to us late in the process. Congrats also to Steve-o on his classic
café.

Please note name change from Bandit1298 to Zenfiddy78. I noticed after joining that there were
a few Bandits already and wanted something a bit different.  Sorry for any confusion this may cause.
I also posted this under new member intros.
