Topic: snakes alive!!!!!

Just been for a nice, long (but crikey it was warm) ride on the CB, went on a favourite road, lots of twisties and hills - came around a bend and there taking up most of my lane was the biggest fattest tiger snake I have seen, that had stopped and sat up to see what was coming. I just managed to miss his head as I swerved around him, but the old sphincter valve got a good work out  (probaly the snake's too!!).

(for those that don't know, tiger snakes are bad and mean and very aggressive and very poisonous - where else but Oz! One of the few snakes that will pick a fight, where others will go away if you leave them alone).

I'm home now having some soothing medication!

Is that like having a death adder give you the evil eye while plodding through a paddock looking for a stray golf ball, needless to say the #8 iron will never be straight again... that sphincter certainly gets a tremble in it...

also ran over a large black snake on a dirt road years ago (1/2 hour from Bourke) and never saw it come out from under the car... took it straight to the mechanics and complained about a noisy exhaust... they put it on the hoist, and then cursed a fair bit when they found it nestled between the petrol tank and body panel... it was pretty pissed off... not nearly as much as the mechanics...

Don't even like thinking about snakes never mind meeting one ready to fight while riding on my open cockpit bike!!!!!!!
