Sorry to open up a super-old thread, but this one seems like the best resource I've come across. I grabbed the 68-A9-WV that you recommended, but on my bike they won't come on at all, even when I turn on the flasher. The stock incandescents work fine so I'm left scratching my head. Perhaps the wide angle or the polarity is impacting them, but I thought someone may have had similar experience.

Also, I'm really curious about the right angle 1157 bulbs that SuperBrightLEDS has available now

Does anyone have any experience with this bulb? Does this look like it'd fit the front running/turn signals?

Here's what I use from superbrightleds.com :

Front Blinkers:  1157-x18-T  (Amber)

Rear Blinkers:  1156-x18-T  (Amber)

Tail Light:  1157-x45-T  (Red)

Instrumentation:  Ba9S-WHP (Cool white)

Blinker Relay:  LF1-S-PIN

*You could probably use the "CBT" models over "T"  for blinkers and save about $40, but I would still go with the 45-T for the tail light.  If you're not using the fronts as running lights just get 1156's for all 4.  The relay for some reason you need to reverse the black and grey wires if memory serves correct.  These are bright and look great.  I have the same setup on all 3 of my bikes.  This place is also good for getting replacement socket bases.

I have converted every bulb on my 550 to LED including the headlight. The small bulbs have been covered well so I will not go into that but here is a link to the headlight I am using. This is not exactly like the one I have but an updated model. I will say that it is incredibly bright so don't let anyone tell you otherwise. One drawback, its expensive! But so was everything else I did on the bike!

Cool.  That headlight uses around 20 to 24 watts of power.  That's about 1/3 of a standard bulb.

Wow.....that's a pricey headlight.  $290.00 on sale regular price $325.00.  It would be nice and is certainly unique but way out of my budget!

Just wanted to update this thread as I just went down this rate hole.

The cheapest easiest solution is this product:

It's a LED bulb replacement, it works fine, gives out slightly better light than OEM.

The 2nd way to go is a full replacement, you can find those for about $60 like this one.

This also fits in fine, but you need to take apart the headlight assembly, which takes about 5-10 minutes.
