Topic: Have Campagnolo front wheel 19"- Rear wheel that will match CB750 K0-K6?

I have an old Campagnolo front wheel I bought used middle of 80's. Together with a modified Suzuki 1000GS fork and rotors.

I have ideas to use it on a CB750 build. I might try the fork and wheel complete on a CB750 frame, probably K2.
I have searched for Lester, Morris, Marvic... No wheel for drum brake with direct fitment for CB750.
Is it only rear disc brake like F bikes as an option?
Below the old wheel that has been resting in barns and finally my shed + 30 years

Lester definitely made a drum rear flavor for the 750 in both 16" and 18" as I have owned both. Its a 7 spoke though and wont really match whats up front. You will probably need to find another from a Ducati and make it work. PVM made a wheel that looks very similar to the Campy that may be easier to find. That or ditch that one and get a brand new set, but they are like $2,000 or a bit more.

Is it definitely 19"? I've never seen a 19" Campag before. Nor have I ever seen a drum brake one. I think I'd just go for a rear disc too, it wouldn't be a difficult conversion, I have Campags on my 750 and use a RGV250 rear caliper. 

However, before using it you must have it crack tested, old magnesium wheels are prone to that problem. Magnetic flux testing is good.

6bolt, easy to adapt..
Get a Morris rear with disc,most wont count and notice..or the cheap way..get a Kawi cast lookalike with a drum in the back

I had wild ideas to "upgrade" my bike with a thicker fork with dual brakes,  the wheel was in the package. It came from a turbo fed GS1000 that the owner continued to modify too.
Campagnolo wheels were not that uncommon here since our local tuner had them in their catalogue around 1984. The original gold color should been saved  though.

I'll try to use the old modification on my next project if I can find a rear wheel that look similar. Same paint will make them match better
If not trade them for CB750 wheels.

No stamp anywhere as I have seen. Campagnolo wheels were gold painted and Campagnolo sticker/painted on the side.
If it is real Campagnolo as I was told back in ca:1987... Electron, 90% Magnesium + 10% aluminum. I have the old catalogue beside my sofa

Campagnolo makes all sorts of things, even aviation parts. I'm a Shimano man, but have had plenty of Super Record parts in my time.

Its a 19 Tim, click on the pic, it enlarges, you can clearly see the tire size at the top of the pic..  Pewe, cool wheels mate but I'd definitely have them crack tested, they do look in relatively good condition though, if they are all good, I'd use them for sure, love the 5 spoke wheels. What width's are they.? ..

PVM made a almost identical looking wheel. I have a 19" and 18" for a Bol d'Or. Rear is disc brake, however.

They sure did, early 1982 GPZ550's and a couple of smaller capacity models...  Stevo has one of the 5 spoke 550's..

The tire size is 100/90-19.
I have not measured the wheel.  The sold wheel to GS1000 back then was 2.15-19" according my catalogue from my local dealer/tuner.

EDIT: I measured the wheel. Outer width: 73mm.    The front rim on my bike: 70mm.
Conclusion:  Same size as CB750 OEM front. The laced rim has thinner walls so tire wise similar.

I might have found one way to use the front wheel for my next build, CB750 no 2.
Rear wheel, the seven star wheel from Henry Abe, called DAYTONA INTERNATIONAL TRADING in a shop here in Sweden that sells them for $150US, new!
For 5.10-16" tires only. Well, that combo with 19" front vs 16" rear was popular here for 35-40 years ago.

I do not need to spend a ton. I think the wheels will match if I pant them in same color. Campagnolo gold or satin black....?
Need the CB 750 rear stuff except the clean hub and bearings.

Thanks for the information about magnesium wheels. I had no idea about that at all.

The paint is OK, just wrong color. Refurbish the wheel correctly must cost a lot. My bike is not a Bimota or collectors Ducati that need original wheels.
I'll sand the paint just for new layer of paint after I have cleaned it with degreaser then acetone. Satin black might be easier to get the 2 different wheels to match. Brake dust, dirt and oil will not be that visible either.

This is not about the wheels only, the domino effect of restomod and use what I have on the shelves.....  Clean shelves of parts, assemble them on a frame that becomes a bike that can be used. 
Buy the missing parts only.

I'll get a CB750 registered frame on Sunday if the seller does not change his mind. It needs a frame kit too. It has already but the bad simple version Carpy sold before and used back inte 70's too.
I'll might need the missing frame part and weld the triangle back in place too. Plus a new frame kit, Franks or Gordons. I have Frank's on my running K6. Very easy to assemble.

I'll paint my old shocks, Marzoochi AG Strada, same black paint and new decals. I had in my mind to stay original red and use the repair kit I have for them.

Bike will get a cafe style with tank and side covers in original style. I have a good set in Freedom Green Metallic.
4-1 and maybe a Giuliari  seat if it is long enough for a passenger, maybe not. I can use the today seat on my K6 and give the K6 a NOS seat I have in NOS box in my garage. Fork Suzuki GS1000.

Engine either 836 or 900cc, old ported head with std valves. Mikuni VM29 Smoothbores. I have CB900 DOHC rods that might fit my old Action Fours 836 pistons outer crown edge to reach the head surface with 1.5mm longer rods. Photos below.
CR? Chambers might need to be grinded. I have new rings for the 836.

Cam: I have CX-7, RC295 copy, Action Fours SS-1 and Megacycle 125-20 if I have cranked the CR with 900 rods that need some overlap. RC295 drink less fuel and better for touring and skipped the 900 rods.

836 cylinder is too tired though, maybe another cylinder to bore
or resleeve and bore my old
or bore the existing to 65.5mm and use 849cc pistons.

Something leads to someting else and the first choice no longer the way....
The rear wheel I found, Henry Abe 16" will be my choice for rear, Campagnolo not for front. I have found something that will match the rear much better and no reason to paint wheels.

I'll order a Suzuki GS 1000 front wheel to make the Suzuki front complete, match Henry Abe really well.

Front wheel, complete front axle are in progresss and soon in the garage. One front rotor was good, another used with same thickness is also  going this way. Tapered roller bearings kit that match CB750 frame and GS1000 fork also ordered from www.allballsracing.com

I saw old Suzuki GS1000 78-81 when looking for wheel and other small parts. They look good.
