Hi from Arizona!
« on: March 14, 2017, 09:49:46 AM »
I don't own a 4 yet but I'm looking at a 75 CB400F. Nice looking bike with 25k. I have a really nice 71 SL350 & wonder if the 400 is a worthy step up? I'm keeping the 350 but it is not really suited for highway/freeway riding (in my opinion). On paper, it looks like the 400 has only 4 more hp than the 350 and weighs about 100lb more. Would I be better off looking for a 550? Anyone here ever have both? How would you compare?

A 550 would be much better for highway riding/touring.
Ive had both my 350F and a 550K out on the freeway.
550 is much more stable, and you don't have to flog it to keep up with freeway speeds.
Properly tuned and maintained, it'll be right at home at 60-80mph.
The 350/400 bikes are great, dont get me wrong.  Loads of fun, just better suited for the twisties IMO.
