1977 cb750k choke cable mount..
« on: March 18, 2017, 04:29:35 PM »
I have a 1977 cb750k that I'm almost finished rebuilding. Built the carbs up and going out the clip where the choke cable mounts is missing (the carbs were torn apart when I got the bike). I know what I'm missing. I just can't find the part for sale anywhere. Anyone know the part number for what I'm talking about? I made one out of a little piece of sheet metal that works okay, but it's an eye soar.

Thanks!

Stay, choke cable.  Honda part # 17951404670.  If you enter cmsnl into google, you can access diagrams and part numbers for your bike.  Price for this part from them is 7 euros.  Be patient, I know someone on here has one they will part with.

I appreciate the reply. However this isn't the part I'm looking for. I've looked at the carb diagrams and the part is just listed as the set of the stay plate. I have the stay plate but I am missing the small part circled below. You can actually barely see it in the picture, it's screwed into the stay plate.

man,
I am looking for the exact same part. I have the exact same carbs. I bought an old 77 CB750f, started rebuilding her, got to the carbs and couldn't figure out what the choke swing arm was for. took me forever just to figure out that it was the choke. anyways I bought a new choke cable and have it rigged up but I need that one piece to have it set up perfectly. If you ever figure it out message me, and If I ever figure it out I'll let you know.

Here's another forum topic where a guy posted some pictures that almost showed the part, I asked him for more pictures but no response.

I checked the cmsnl schematics and can't find that part on it.  So here is a picture (sorry for fuzzy) of what I would call a cable clamp.  Is this it?

I don't have a spare, but I think I could make one and then we can experiment with hardening to keep it from bending when tightened.

That's it! I will try to make a better one and if that doesn't work out I guess we'll just have to deal with it until someone comes along!

Let me know if you want this.  One of these is stock, the other one I just made.  If you don't want it, maybe jean jacket will.

Usually the little stuff that is a pain to find on some of these.....What a strange thing to be missing. I always leave mine in and tighten it when i've had to remove the carbs.

Best of luck in finding one....i hope it works out...what a crappy thing to hold you up.

Bummer! I doubt you'd find that part for sale separately. Would be very easy to make with a vice, a hammer, a block of wood and a drill. Just need a piece of nice thick steel.

Haha tempting danyo. But I'd hate to spend nearly $25 when this tiny part is all I need. Good luck!
