Changing out the rear wheel bearings and sprockets. Have a Conti K112 coming and then will get at the front bearings and tire. This patina bike looks so much more happier with all the barn dust off it. Noted the little nub on the light switch contact block is broke. I think Hondaman installs a little screw in that spot to get it working again. I think I will have to take off those white grips though...they just don't do it for me. Got some identical ones in black.

Can you still get the early cush rubbers? Looks like maybe all the same part number , ie 8 required ?.. Use FLITZ on the frame and you will be very happy...

Yes, pretty amazing condition for a 69 in a barn. I was concerned about mice in the wiring, but all intact and not even any splices. All electrics work just need to do some clean up on some contacts. All rear wheel bearings installed.

That is not bad price at all. Those early k0 share most parts with later sandcast. Wrinkle tank sold recently on ebay for 560$ + shipping. And k0 which was listed for $8888 buy it now waited only one hour for buyer.

That one is a bit over-priced

Stev-o,maybe you could talk the owner down quite a bit and finally ride away with it and use a stack of $Bills to pad the seat a bit for support.

I see that one is still listed for $9,500. That's a good one for you Bill! I found the actual PO pick up date on my 69 patina bike of November 26, 1969. Wonder what the actual purchase date was as I know once you ordered it took quite a while to finally get it. Waiting on the new sprockets then will put the rear tire back on and take the front off for bearings and tire/tube. Have the master off with BP Blaster in the c-clip area. The piston is really froze.

Geez, what a great pickup John, well done! This is my 1969 K0, same frame number as yours, but not much left of the original bike sadly. Luckily I've collected all of the hard to find parts, although I've only got a single cut fender and non-wrinkle tank, I didn't realise that the double cut fenders and wrinkle tanks were still being used 5000 bikes after the last of the sandcasts.

You can buy a repro air box and HM300 pipes from Yamiya, excellent quality, but not cheap, but considering the deal you got on your bike, they'd only add to it's value, I'd reckon? Cheers, Terry.

What snap-ring pliers are those in the picture you just posted ? I have a pr. very similar.We need the best pliers to get a good grip and remove that little snap-ring that holds all the precious parts inside that master.

Feels good to have that CB550 off the lift and the new project on the lift. Got the rear wheel back on with the new Sunstar sprocket and installed the new Sunstar front sprocket. Have the oil draining and note this is the first bike with no sludge in the oil tank, but shouldn't be with only 11,999 miles.

What a nice find. Congratulations. I'd leave it as is and do a full mechanical restoration. In a few decades time the original paint early cb750's will be worth a lot more money than fully restored machines. This is the case with old harley's today as original and unrestored in decent condition are in high demand. Plus, old patina has a story to tell.
