I have an Amen Savior Sportster frame that is part of a very long term project of mine.  The Savior spring boxes were all the same size.  Anyways, I have done some spring measuring to take the mystery out of the springs themselves.  Here is the info:

AMEN SAVIOR SPRINGS / AXLE HOLDER:

AMEN SAVIOR TOP SPRINGS:

Spring Free Length: 6.25"
OD: 2.125"
ID: 1.5625"
Wire Diameter: .28125"
Number of Coils: 12
Wind: LH
End: Ground Closed

Using a spring calculator the estimated spring rate is about 119 lbs/in.

*Paughco Springs 163A are a close match and can be substituted for the original top springs.

AMEN SAVIOR BOTTOM SPRINGS:

Free Length: 2.5"
OD: 2"
ID: 1.5625"
Wire Diameter: .21875"
Number of Coils: 5
Wind: RH
End: Ground Closed

Using a spring calculator the estimated spring rate is about 116 lbs/in.

*There are no easy replacements for the bottom springs.

Custom Springs can be ordered from http://www.diamondwire.com/

Okay, Waay late but I got you guys another update. An old mate of mine came over from the UK in January, we ended up blowing a lot of money on a trip to Seattle... Followed by having my hours cut at work. To say the least, money has been damn tight. I'm not one to wallow in my sorrows though, I've got myself a second job and have still been playing with bits of the bike I can still work on without spending more than 10 bucks at a time. First off:

754, On your advice I called the guys from Mongoose. They seemed pretty great, clear on prices and that. I'llbe dropping the cylinders off with them mid-March

Rookster: I can't thank you enough mate ;D I sent those specs off to Cycle One Manufacturing and they gave me a quote on a pair of the top springs and 4 0.025 pistons with all the required gubbins, will be sending off an order by the end of this month (hopefully)

So like I said, I've not been sitting about doing nothing. I got an Air filter off a salvage shop in Tennessee at a pretty good price. I'm dead happy with it, I really didn't want to put pods on it.This is how it looked when it arrived

Got potential... I didn't take a picture, but the inside has light rust throughout, with a bad patch in one corner, which I can only assume must've been full of water at some point in its life. Sanded down the innards with a wire brush, its all looking good. As for the outside, I figured the best+ cheapest option was:

Elbow grease  8

Squirt of WD 40 to get the gunk off, then grit 400 to get the pitting off. Halfway across the back plate, already looking better

Whole way across with the grit 400, then over again with grit 600

Same again on the rest of the filter. this is after the 400 grit, before the 600. You can really tell when I didn't go in the same direction, but hey this was my first time

And then the finishing piece... Autosol. It doesn't look factory perfect... but I'm not entering a show here ;D If anything I've just been doing this to not let myself feel like I've lost momentum on the project, which is hard when you've hit a financial barrier.

'So thats one nights work' you say 'what've you been doing the rest of the time?'
Well, I seem to have quite a knack for doing this. Its almost fun to just zone out, sit with the radio on on your workbench and sand away. To that end...

Yeah its not professional grade, but these pieces look so much nicer than they did.Especially the rear drum component, which was painted with thick black paint. I assumed it was to cover a gouge in it or something, its in very good condition underneath!

So there... I've not given up, its just taking a little while longer than planned ;D Should be ordering parts soon, I'll keep y'all updated   8)

Looks great Anglo, well done mate. Pity you had to take on a second job, you must be pissed off with the wages there, compared to the UK? Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

"Crazy is a very misunderstood term, it's a fine line that some of us can lean over and still keep our balance" (thanks RB550Four)

Terry: It ain't so much that the wages are bad, its just that I went from the rent of living in podunk nowhere in the UK to living in city suburbs in Canada. Even though I'm in a sharehouse, finding a sharehouse with an empty garage they were happy to let me play in wasn't so cheap ;D

Parts still tickling in.
Air Filter Arrived amongst an oil filter and some fork seals

Which led to the embarrassing realisation that I've got a custom airbox that a stock filter isn't going to fit

...  :-\

I guess I got giddy ordering parts and didn't think to stop and check the dimensions!  ;D

Got some new 10" over push-pull throttle cables from China as well, alongside my new 1978 cb750F Throttle body with handlebar controls from Iowa

I usually get mixed responses when I tell people I'm putting full handlebar controls on a chop... Honestly, I want to put a lot of miles on this thing, and to me at least it makes sense to keep as much of the controls and switches as I can figure out how to wire in. Might spoil it for some, but its just my preference  ;D

Should be ordering the pistons soon
