71 cb750 stock Euro bars cable length Q?
« on: March 07, 2017, 10:09:52 PM »
The title says it all, my stock cables look good with the 71 Honda euro bars but my push cable is binding and needs replaced. What length do I want for these bars 39"? On ebay the ads say euro with up bars, I'm afraid the universal cables will look too long.
Is there a source for the interior parts of the stock cruise control screw on the throttle? Mine has the screw but not the interior pieces.

Don: by 'Euro' bars, do you mean the flat ones? Motion Pro makes a -3" length cable for the cafe' crowd that fits the "W" bars pretty well (either up or down).

All that is inside there is a metal spring/clip looking thing right? I believe Yamiya sells just those parts.

Yes, I was thinking there is a metal spring and a nylon rub block.

Ok. these are very close to the cb400F bars but I think they are a bit longer, (width)  I ordered them by mistake from DSS for a Euro spec 71 but really like the feel. The 71 already had the lower than normal bars but these are even shorter.  Maybe 1 1/2" to 2"  of rise.

Don - check DSS UK website for Euro spec cables, they will be the length you want.
I did this for my K4 with super bars.

Honestly, I was thinking 39cm. and thought someone would know off hand.  I've got a box of cables from the bike stash I bought last fall. I can take one off and measure a stock K1 to see. I even have a metric tape measure.
